About us
The employees of our Department deal with issues in the field of economic and medical informatics. Their areas of interest include:
- electronic economy
- electronic payment systems and computerization of the banking sector, electronic banking, electronic money, micropayments, online auctions
- use of information and communication technologies in public administration
- information security, information security management systems, personal data protection
- medical informatics, public health, e-health, cybermedicine, telemedicine
- social and economic aspects of e-learning
- cybersociology, cyberpsychology, online behavior
- artificial intelligence
- management in IT projects
- design of information systems
- design of business processes
Every year, observing the growing interest of the business IT community in the above topics, our staff strives to provide students with reliable and up-to-date knowledge, exchanging experiences with representatives of the world of science, industry and business. Many of our employees are members of numerous scientific societies, including: the Polish Information Technology Society, the Scientific Society of Economic Informatics, the Polish Economic Society, the Polish Sociological Society, the Polish Society of Telemedicine and e-Health, the Integrał Association, the Academic E-learning Association, the Polish Cybernetic Society, the Polish Society of Medical Informatics.
Representatives of the Department participated in standardization work related to EDI and EC conducted within the UN-ECE in Geneva and were invited to act as reviewers of projects financed by the European Commission in Brussels. They were also invited to participate in the National Foresight Program Poland 2020 and in the work of the Council for the computerization of education at the Minister of National Education.
The Department's employees participate in various projects, both national and international. These include:

- Artificial intelligence: “Behavioral patterns related to anxiety manifested in social media among women and men – data mining using artificial intelligence tools”, “Studies in CyberPsychology and behavioral aspects using artificial intelligence and deep learning” (cooperation with India)
commercial projects carried out at the request of business entities and administrative units:
- “Computer identification and analysis of the existing management structure in the nodal organizational units of ZEC Łódź S.A. and an experimental project of reorganizing the structure, using the DIANA-9 package"
- “Show Room” – a project conducted in cooperation with the R&D team of CitiBank Handlowy in Warsaw
- “Development of a multi-parameter decision-making machine operating in real time, for catering point operators to optimize the offer when accepting an order”
