The Technology Transfer Centre of the University of Lodz (CTT UŁ) supports researchers, doctoral candidates and students in developing and implementing research results generated at the University of Lodz. We help transform knowledge and research ideas into solutions that can be applied in the economy, public administration and social life.

CTT UŁ is responsible for the protection of the University of Lodz’s intellectual property and for developing cooperation between academia and the socio-economic environment. We support research projects at different stages of development – from identifying their innovation potential, through protecting research results, to commercialisation and implementation.

The Centre also develops the Science Hub UniLodz cooperation model, which enables joint research and development projects with companies, public institutions and social organisations. Through this model, researchers and research teams can engage in projects addressing real economic and societal challenges.

What we support

As part of its activities, CTT UŁ offers, among others:

• receiving and coordinating disclosures of research results and inventions created at the University of Lodz,

• support in intellectual property protection, including advice on patents, copyrights, know-how and other forms of protection for research results,

• coordinating cooperation with external patent attorney offices, preparing documentation for patent attorneys and managing patent application processes,

• monitoring deadlines related to intellectual property protection, including official fees and procedural deadlines,

• managing the patent portfolio of the University of Lodz,

• assessing the commercialisation potential of research results and supporting the development of commercialisation strategies,

• identifying business and institutional partners interested in research and development cooperation,

• support in preparing and negotiating agreements with companies and public institutions,

• developing projects implemented within the Science Hub model, connecting research teams with external partners,

• support for establishing spin-off companies and developing academic entrepreneurship,

• assistance in obtaining funding for projects with implementation potential.

You are encouraged to contact the Technology Transfer Centre, for example when:

• you have developed a research result or solution with potential for real-world application,

• you want to check whether your research results can be protected by a patent or another form of intellectual property protection,

• you plan to publish research results, but are unsure whether intellectual property should be protected beforehand,

• you are looking for a business or institutional partner for a research or implementation project,

• you would like to participate in a project developed within the Science Hub model, addressing a specific economic or societal challenge,

The Technology Transfer Centre of the University of Lodz is a university-wide unit responsible for protecting research results, managing innovation and connecting academia with business and public institutions, both nationally and internationally.
