RECTOR'S REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE POLICY FOR THE PROTECTION OF MINORS, UNIVERSITY OF LODZ

The University of Lodz Rector’s Representative for the Policy for the Protection of Minors:

 

  • prepares the University of Lodz employees to apply the Standards for the Protection of Minors (hereinafter:"SOM") and provides current information in the event of difficulties related to the protection of minors; 
  • monitors the implementation and compliance with the SOM, including conducting a survey at least once every 2 years to monitor the level of the policy implementation and prepares a report for the Rector of the University of Lodz;
  • maintains a register of notifications and proposals for changes to the policy;
  • responds to signals of violations of the Policy for the Protection of Minors;
  • intervenes in accordance with the procedures set out in Chapter V of the Policy for the Protection of Minor, including convening an intervention team in cases specified in the policy;
  • keeps a Register of events that threaten the well-being of a minor;
  • reviews and updates the policy in accordance with identified factual and legal needs.

The University of Lodz Rector’s Representative for ECTS Accumulation and Transfer:

  • monitors the operation and application of the ECTS in the development and implementation of the University of Lodz study curricula;
  • reviews systemic solutions concerning the accumulation, calculation and settlement of ECTS points at the faculties of the University of Lodz;
  • initiates and participates in the updating of the university's regulations relating to ECTS (Rector's Regulations, rules of study, student exchange rules, etc.);
  • controls and validates ECTS transfer as part of international student exchanges (studies and internships in various exchange programmes: Erasmus, bilateral agreements, etc.);
  • monitors documentation (including digital) of the progress and completion of long- and short-term mobilities;
  • approves micro-credentials reviewed by the faculty study programme coordinators, achievements in mobility programmes;
  • controls and approves ECTS transfer in national student exchange programmes (MOST programme, inter-university agreements, etc.);
  • reviews the recognition of ECTS in connection with the recognition of learning outcomes achieved outside the study curricula schedules;
  • supervises the implementation of tasks of the faculty and study programme ECTS coordinators;
  • provides consultation and training on the operation of the ECTS system in the course of studies and international exchanges;
  • takes a stand on controversial issues concerning the operation of the ECTS system at the formal and content-related level;
  • works directly with Vice-Rectors of the University of Lodz;
  • cooperates directly with the University of Lodz International Relations Office  with regard to the ongoing international programmes (e.g. reviewing student traineeship and staff training mobilities; participation in adapting student and staff exchange service systems to the requirements and proposals from national and international academic institutions);
  • cooperates closely with the University of Lodz Rector’s Representative for International Exchange Programmes;
  • cooperates closely with the faculty deans on the issue of students’ ECTS recognition and recognition of staff mobility as part of the international programmes (full-time, blended and online);
  • organises training sessions for faculty coordinators on ECTS credits;
  • represents the university in national and international events related to the performed function;
  • cooperates with individual units of the University of Lodz with regard to the tasks arising from the performed function.

RECTOR’S REPRESENTATIVE FOR SCIENTIFIC MOBILITY, INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION AND ENGLISH-LANGUAGE MAJORS, UNIVERSITY OF LODZ

The University of Lodz Rector’s Representative for Scientific Mobility, International Accreditation and English-language Minors:

  • coordinates the process of obtaining international accreditations for University of Lodz majors in foreign languages;
  • works closely with faculties on foreign language education curricula and obtaining international accreditations;
  • establishes and implements international cooperation in the creation of foreign languages majors, double diplomas and study curricula in English;
  • supports the process of publishing in foreign languages and travelling to international conferences;
  • supports and co-creates new learning solutions for long- and short-term international exchanges for students and staff;
  • supports international mobility of staff in terms of obtaining international grants and scholarships as part of promotion procedures;
  • represents the University of Lodz during national and international events related to the performed function;
  • cooperates with individual units of the University of Lodz in the scope of tasks resulting from the performed function.

  • cooperates with the Deans' Representatives for Internships at the University of Lodz.

RECTOR’S REPRESENTATIVE FOR OPEN ACCESS TO PUBLICATIONS AND RESEARCH FINDINGS, UNIVERSITY OF LODZ

The University of Lodz Rector’s Representative for Open Access to Publications and Research Findings:

  • promotes access to publications and research findings using modern IT tools and databases;
  • supports activities aimed at creating open educational and scientific resources;
  • initiates solutions to provide the public with open access to publications and research findings;
  • conducts information and training activities to promote the policy of open access to publications and research findings;
  • provides information on open access publishing programmes run by publishers under licences and agreements signed with the University of Lodz;
  • coordinates the maintenance and development of the infrastructure of the University of Lodz Repository;
  • represents the University of Lodz within the Coalition for Open Education;
  • cooperates with the Vice-Rector for Science and University of Lodz units in the scope of tasks resulting from the performed function;
  • monitors and reports to the Rector of the University of Lodz on progress in the implementation of open access at the University of Lodz.

The University of Lodz Rector's Representative for Student Affairs works closely with the Rector of the University of Lodz and Vice-Rectors: for Education as well as for Academic and External Relations. The tasks of the Representative include support in student affairs, in the scope of the admissions process, implementation of the course of studies, cooperation with student organisations and student science clubs. 

 

The University of Lodz Rector's Representative for Student Affairs:

  • reviews requests for reconsideration of cases in the field of student affairs related to the course of studies;
  • reviews requests for reconsideration of cases regarding tuition fees, discounts and exemptions from fees;
  • supervises the student scientific movement and, together with the Vice-Rector for Science, determines the rules of student participation in the research work of the university; 
  • takes care of the development of students' activities, including activating student organisations and cooperates with students’ government and youth organisations;
  • advises on matters related to observing student's rights contained in the Law on Higher Education and Science, the Statute of
    the University of Lodz, Rules of Study at the University of Lodz and other legal acts;
  • cooperates with the relevant units in the event of violation of the student's rights.

The University of Lodz Rector's Representative for Equal Treatment:

  • initiates actions for equal treatment and prevention of discrimination;
  • issues recommendations in the area of equal treatment;
  • monitors and evaluates anti-discrimination activities;
  • promotes and disseminates the issue of equal treatment among the academic community;
  • coordinates national and international cooperation in the field of equal treatment;
  • supports initiatives and cooperation of members of the University of Lodz community with public institutions, entrepreneurs and non-governmental organisations in the field of dissemination of equal treatment principles;
  • reviews existing procedures and practices in the field of equal treatment at the University of Lodz;
  • participates in the work of the Anti-mobbing Committee and the Discrimination Prevention Team;
  • supports the student community and the university's management and administration in the implementation of existing anti-discrimination procedures;
  • cooperates with the Gender Equality Board;
  • ensures timely and correct implementation of the existing Gender Equality Plan.

The University of Lodz Rector’s Representative for International Exchange Programmes:

  • cooperates directly with the University of Lodz Vice-Rector for Internationalisation of Science and Education;
  • cooperates closely with the University of Lodz Rector’s Representative for ECTS Accumulation and Transfer, faculty
  • coordinators for the Erasmus Programme and other international exchange programmes and the International relations Office;
  • co-organises meetings of the Erasmus Programme Committee and other international exchange programmes;
  • develops, together with the International Relations Office, the rules for recruitment, qualification and funding of student mobility for studies and traineeships, research and teaching as well as administrative staff;
  • proposes, co-creates and coordinates new solutions and principles of education at the University of Lodz as part of short-term international mobilities;
  • cooperates with the International Relations Office in the preparation of financial and content-related reports (the so-called interim and final reports) submitted to the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange;
  • supervises updates and implementation of bilateral agreements;
  • supervises digitisation process of the Erasmus+ Erasmus Without Paper programme;
  • supervises recruitment of students applying for grants for studies and traineeships under the Erasmus+ and Education and other international exchange programmes;
  • supervises qualification of administrative and scientific teaching staff for Erasmus+ and Education teaching and training mobilities (in cooperation with the University of Lodz Rector’s Representative for ECTS Accumulation and Transfer);
  • coordinates the work of the Representatives for the Erasmus+ Programme and other international exchange programmes operating at individual faculties of the University of Lodz;
  • participates in information meetings for students studying at the University of Lodz as part of a semester or yearly exchange to the University of Lodz, held at the beginning of each semester, as well as at occasional meetings
  • promotes international exchange among the academic community of the University of Lodz;
  • contacts the European Commission, the Erasmus+ National Agency, including active participation, inter alia, in conferences, debates, organisational meetings of representatives coordinating exchange programmes;
  • reviews and resolves issues concerning Erasmus and Education scholarship holders as well as students and doctoral students of other international exchange programmes;
  • implements the procedures arising from the Erasmus Charter for 2021- 2027;
  • represents the university in national and international events related to the performed function;
  • cooperates with individual units of the University of Lodz in the tasks related to the performed function.
