Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, University of Lodz, Poland
On May 15–16, 2025, the 10th International PhD Students’ Conference in Life Sciences – BioOpen took place at the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection of the University of Łódź. This special anniversary edition brought together 128 participants from Poland and abroad, including our partners from the UNIC Alliance, who presented their research across four main thematic sessions:
The scientific excellence of the conference was further enriched by inspiring keynote lectures delivered by our distinguished guests:
The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Łódź, the Marshal of the Łódź Voivodeship, the Rector of the University of Łódź, and the Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection. It was co-funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) as part of the “We are UNIC” project.
Our scientific partners included the Polish Academy of Sciences, NCBR, Polish Society for Metabolic Diseases (PTCHM), Polish Botanical Society, Polish Society for Radiation Research, Polish Hydrobiological Society, Polish Biophysical Society, and other respected institutions.
During the conference, numerous awards and distinctions were granted for the best oral and poster presentations. The full list of awardees is available in the Awarded Participants section.
This unique event created a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, scientific discussion, and international collaboration, highlighting the essential role of young researchers in advancing life sciences.
We sincerely thank all participants, keynote speakers, abstract reviewers, the organizing committee, and volunteers for their dedication and contributions to this memorable edition!
