Agata Handley (Dr) jest adiunktem w Instytucie Anglistyki UŁ i pracownikiem Zakładu Kultury i Literatury Brytyjskiej. Jej główne zainteresowania badawcze to współczesna poezja brytyjska ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem kultury północnej Anglii, intermedialność i studia nad pamięcią. Od 2011 roku jest członkiem zespołu redakcyjnego czasopisma naukowego Text Matters: A Journal of Literature, Theory and Culture. Jej książka Constructing Identity: Continuity, Otherness and Revolt in the Poetry of Tony Harrison została opublikowana nakładem wydawnictwa Peter Lang w 2016 roku (wydanie drugie, uzupełnione ukazało się w 2021) Jest autorką artykułów i uczestniczką projektów podejmujących tematykę literaturoznawczą i kulturoznawczą. Uczy literatury i kultury brytyjskiej oraz pisania akademickiego. Interesuje się innowacyjnymi metodami kształcenia, m.in. nauczaniem projektowym i metodą “Mantle of the Expert”, która zakłada wykorzystanie technik teatralnych w nauczaniu. Aktualnie jej praca naukowa koncentruje się zagadnieniach związanych ze współczesnym rozumieniem ekfrazy w anglojęzycznej literaturze i intertekstualnością w wideoklipie.
