The secret of happiness lies not in possessing things but in the ability to enjoy them.

prof. Tadeusz Kotarbi艅ski, the first Rector of the University of Lodz

In selected places at the University of Lodz you can find specially marked #UniLodz Bookcrossing bookshelves with books to exchange. In order to take part in the campaign and get some new books, you just need to leave your books in exchange. This way, we can give books a second life.

Bookcrossing bookshelves can be found:

  • at the UL Faculty of Law and Administration
  • at the UL faculty of Economics and Sociology
  • at the UL Faculty of Philosophy and History
  • at the UL Faculty of Philology
  • at the UL Faculty of Management
  • at the University of Lodz Library
  • in the UL Rector鈥檚 Office
  • in the UL Promotion Centre

For many years, the campaign has also been supported by the Lodz University Press, thanks to which you can find many scientific publications among the circulating books.

In 2016, on the occasion of the Og贸lnopolski Dzie艅 Wolnych Ksi膮偶ek [National Free Books Day], writers, poets, cultural animators, journalists, scientists and representatives of cultural institutions of Lodz donated to bookcrossing at the University of Lodz books that are important and interesting to them. Each book with a personal justification! Rectors and Deans of the University of Lodz also joined the campaign several times. Books selected by them, with their signatures and a few words for the new readers, can be found on the bookshelves.

BBookcrossing of the University of Lodz is constantly growing and books find new readers in new places. Our bookshelves can also be found in selected high schools in Lodz, where they promote reading among students.
