Prof. Marcin Górski z WPiA UŁ otrzymał stypendium Fulbrighta

The scholarship has been awarded for a period of four months, during which Professor Górski from the Department of European Constitutional Law will conduct research in the United States of America.

The Fulbright Scholarship is considered one of the most prestigious in the field of international education. The programme is funded by the US government. It was founded in 1946 by the United States senator J. William Fulbright. The programme is to promote mutual understanding and cultural exchange between the United States and other countries.

The scholarship offers the opportunity to study, conduct research and teach at universities in the United States. It is addressed to students, graduates and researchers from various fields who want to broaden their academic and cultural horizons.

During my stay in New York, I will conduct research on the impact of the UNESCO 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions on the dynamics of freedom of "sexual expression", i.e. containing elements related to the sphere of human sexuality. Examples include the allegory of the French Revolution, Delacroix's painting "Liberty Leading the People" (at one point blocked in the social media due to the fact that the image shows the naked bust of "Marianna"), or Forman's iconic musical "Hair" (with a famous song, the text of which consists mainly of Latin terms for sexual intercourse techniques). The stay in New York will allow me to examine the American perspective on this issue (especially whether transnational judicial dialogue can result in strengthening the protection of freedom of sexual expression, despite all the reluctance of American judges to "dialogue") and prepare an interesting publication. I'm also planning a series of, I hope, of juicy juridical podcasts on the subject.
