Science with Friends – spotkanie z dr Neveną Milčić

Place of the event: , Online
When: 18 March 2024 (Monday) 14:00 - 16:00

Science with Friends (SwF) is a seminar series dedicated to friendly scientific discussions. It was started as a series for doctoral students as part of a PhD course within the University of Lodz Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences but has already grown further and is now attempting to reach a wider audience. The main host and organiser of the seminars is Dr Béla Fiser (Sub-department of Theoretical and Structural Chemistry, Department of Physical Chemistry)

The upcoming meeting is entitled: Biocatalytic Synthesis of Enantiopure Fluorinated Building Blocks - Insights from Reaction Engineering Approach and will take place with Dr Nevena Milčić – University of Zagreb, Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology

Nevena Milčić obtained her PhD degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology (Zagreb, Croatia) in May 2023. Her research interests lie in the application of reaction engineering approach for the biocatalytic synthesis of industrially relevant molecules, such as pharmaceutical building blocks. This methodology includes kinetic investigation of biocatalytic reactions and estimation of kinetic parameters, screening of suitable media for the biocatalytic synthesis and the effects of solvents on enzyme performance, assessment of enzyme thermal and operational stability, and identification of reaction bottlenecks for process optimisation

The meeting will be held on 18th of March, 2:00 p.m.– online
