Researchers from the University of Lodz are yet again among the prestigious group of "Top 2% of the most influential scientists in the world". The ranking compiled by the University of Stanford in cooperation with Elsevier and SciTech Strategies contains the names of researchers whose publications have been most frequently cited by other authors.

The ranking is published in the form of two lists. The first list is based on overall academic achievements by the end of 2022, while the second one concerns citations of publications only from 2022. Both lists contain criteria such as: the Hirsch index, the number of citations (including self-citations), Impact Factor, place and role on the list of authors of the publication.

The first list of the ranking includes 18 scientists from the University of Lodz (in alphabetical order):  

Sixteen researchers have remained in the ranking and two new ones have joined it, i.e. Prof. Dr hab. Piotr Kaszyński and Prof. Dr hab. Marcin Palusiak compared to last year.

Scientists with the highest citation count in 2022

The University of Lodz scientists with the highest citation count in 2022 include (in alphabetical order):

Sixteen researchers have remained in the ranking and two new ones have joined it. i.e. Prof. Konrad Kowalski and Dr Paulina Sicińska compared to last year.

In total, there are 28 scientists from the University of Lodz in both lists whose names do not repeat – this is more than in previous years. Congratulations to the awarded researchers!

Scientists from the University of Lodz are becoming more and more visible in the Scopus database!

Scopus is one of the available sources of scientific data, the content of which is subject to strict substantive assessment. It records information such as: full bibliographic data, content of abstracts (summaries), keywords, cited works (references to literature), information about citations of a given document. Indexing in Scopus proves the prestige of a given journal or a publisher, allows for increasing the visibility of scientific achievements and participation in international rankings.

The number of publications by scientists representing the University of Lodz in the Scopus database is systematically increasing. In 2021-2022, there was an increase in the following indicators:

  • Scholarly Output – publications (increase by 1.39%), 
  • International Collaboration – publications in international cooperation (increase by o 20,97%).
