Krzysztof Dudek

lawyer, former director of the Kazimierz Dejmek New Theatre

He studied law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz. After passing his apprenticeship, he ran his own law practice. He was a vice president of the Independent Students' Association at the University of Lodz, and also sat on the national authorities of the Association.

He was active in the Orange Alternative. As a member of opposition organizations, he was detained several times by the police and the Security Service. He served as a councillor of the Lodz Regional Assembly. He served on the Culture, Science and Sports Committee and the Audit Committee. He was a member of the Law and Justice party, but in December 2007 he left the party and its councillors’ club and co-founded the Lodz Christian-Conservative Club together with councillors of the Right of the Republic of Poland.

He joined the association Ziemia Łódzka XXI, and also sat on the council of the Poland XXI movement.

In 2009, he moved to the Civic Platform councillors’ club. From March 2007 to February 2016, he was director of the National Cultural Center. Initiator of social actions: "I remember. Katyn 1940" (Pamiętam. Katyń 1940), "Right to culture" (Prawo do kultury), "Homeland - add to favourites" (Ojczysty – dodaj do ulubionych).

From 2016 to 2021, he served as the Director of the Kazimierz Dejmek New Theatre in Lodz. He currently runs a law firm.
