  • Faculty of Management of the University of Lodz (Poland)
  • University of Linnaeus (Sweden)
  • Metropolitan University of Belgrade (Serbia)
  • IMPACTsci (Portugal)
  • Helix-connect Europe (Romania)
  • ISQ e-learning (Portugal)
  • ACEEU (Germany)

On behalf of the University of Lodz Dr hab. T. Bartosz Kalinowski, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz (Head of the project) and Dr Agata Rudnicka take part in the project implementation. Partners involved in the implementation of project activities will develop international cooperation and share best practices in the implementation of the ESG concept in the European higher education sector.

The SHIFT project is to equip the staff of higher education institutions with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively implement and monitor ESG practices. The target groups of the project are in particular: students, academic teachers and administrative staff. The project will produce the following results:

  • ESG Strategy: A plan for higher education institutions to set and achieve ESG goals, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Educational Programme: Asynchronous training modules (e-learning) designed to foster a culture of sustainability and inclusion among higher education stakeholders.
  • ESG Awareness Game in Higher Education Institutions: An interactive game to increase awareness of ESG impacts and strategies in higher education.
  • Certification System: ESG Impact Index in Higher Education: Recognizing higher education institutions for "effective ESG practices and measurable impact."
  • ESG Impact Index (open access): A tool for higher education institutions to measure and monitor environmental, social and governance standards and practices.
  • ESG maturity analysis: Helping higher education institutions improve their sustainability.

The SHIFT project is an important step forward in promoting sustainable and inclusive practices in higher education. Strengthening the position of higher education institutions and their stakeholders using tools and knowledge enabling the integration of ESG practices will support the needed changes in both the internal and non-institutional environment. The SHIFT partnership will produce results that will help navigate higher education organisations towards more sustainable and inclusive practices. The project is financed as part of the Erasmus+ programme and has been implemented from September 2023 to February 2026.
